Mobile application “GDPR in Your Pocket”
In order to provide more precised information about GDPR as well as easy and instant way for obtaining guidance for decision-making in the area of personal data protection, SMEDATA partners will develop an innovative open-source mobile application consisting of an Adviser module and a Library module. Users will be not only professionals, such as business people and legal experts, but also laymen citizens.
The Mobile application “GDPR in Your Pocket” will be developed as an hybrid app, which users can download and install from the respective app stores Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The software development will be focused on the elaboration of a user-friendly interface that best represents the content created within the project. It will offer access to the information resources of the Library module and, depending on user’s profile, to the expert content of the Adviser module.
With the Adviser module citizens will be guided to information about their rights as data subjects and will receive practical advice how to exercise these rights, whereas business people will be introduced to the obligations that arise for their SMEs in relation to the processing of personal data.
However, both types of users will be able to switch between these two roles and to access the expert content related to the other role. At the same time, both types of users will be granted full access to the legal texts included in the Library module of the mobile app. To this end, the application will provide a simple search interface in parallel with the traditional browsing features in English, Bulgarian and Italian.
