Activities

The SMEDATA project is envisaged to consist of logical chain of 15 consistent interconnected activities grouped into four work packages:

  • WP 1 “Management and Coordination of the Project”
  • WP 2 “Awareness and Training”
  • WP 3 “Upgrade of the Mobile Application”
  • WP 4 “Dissemination and Communication”.
Work package 1: Management and Coordination of the Project

Objectives:

  • To ensure proper implementation of the all planned project activities
  • To facilitate project implementation in the most effective and appropriate manner
  • To provide conditions for elaborating the expected project deliverables and meeting the objectives of the Right, Equality, Citizenship Programme 2014-2020
  • To protect interest of the European Union

Work package 2: Awareness and Training

Objectives:

  • Update of a dedicated tailored training and awareness raising methodology in the field of GDPR for SMEs
  • Raising awareness, improving skills and knowledge among SMEs and associations of SMEs on GDPR and the specific impact it will have on their business, including a roadmap toward achieving compliance
  • Participants in planned awareness raising and training events to gain full knowledge and to acquire methodology in order to be effective in the application of GDPR
  • To fine-tune the knowledge about close areas of law, such as the additional data privacy legislation

  • Update of already elaborated training materials
  • Awareness and training events among representatives of the target groups
  • Streaming and recording awareness and training events
  • Evaluation
Work package 3: Upgrade of the mobile app “GDPR in your pocket” via content and language extension

Objectives:

  • To extend the scope of the “Legal Library” module of the “GDPR in your pocket” application with legal content from France and Germany
  • To add French and German to the existing interface languages of the application
  • To update the “Legal Library” module with new or amended Bulgarian and Italian legislation, case law and guidelines of the national DPAs
  • To upgrade the Mobile app by:
    • elaborating further decision support tools for SMEs
    • developing a desktop version for Windows 10 devices
  • To ensure mobile access to the training resources produced within the framework of WP2 activities

Activities:

  • Extension of the content and language scope
  • Update of the Bulgarian and Italian legal content
  • Upgrade of the Mobile app
Work package 4: Dissemination and Communication

Objectives:

  • To ensure that the results of this project are exploited to the maximum and disseminated on a large scale across Europe and among all stakeholders. Action are defined and taken to ensure that the clearly defined and measurable objectives of this project are met
  • To ensure that the results of this project are exploited to the full both during and after completion of the project and to this end it is vital that a clear post-project follow-up strategy is devised so that target groups are not left “high and dry” after the date the project officially ends
  • To disseminate information about the project itself, as well as its results, to representatives of the target groups and other interested stakeholders from across Europe and to ensure that the results of this project are of benefit to actors outside the network

  • Dissemination campaign and communication of project results
  • Organisation of international conference in Brussels
