About SMEDATA II Project

OBJECTIVE

SMEDATA II Project aims at ensuring the effective application of GDPR through awareness, multiplying training and sustainable capacity building for SMEs

ACTIVITIES

SMEDATA II will organise a series of awareness and training events, upgrade the mobile app “GDPR in Your Pocket”, disseminate and communicate project objectives and results

BENEFICIARIES

Management and expert staff of SMEs, their associations, their legal advisors as well as citizens will benefit from SMEDATA awareness & training campaign and innovative tools

General Data Protection Regulation and SMEs
The protection of natural persons in relation to the processing of personal data is a fundamental right. The processing of personal data should be designed to serve mankind. In order to ensure a consistent level of protection for natural persons throughout the Union and to prevent divergences hampering the free movement of personal data within the internal market, GDPR is the instrument to provide legal certainty and transparency for economic operators, including micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. Member States and their supervisory authorities are encouraged to take account of the specific needs of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the application of GDPR.
What we do

Awareness and Training

We will organize 6 regional awareness-raising events in Bulgaria and Italy and elaborate e-training materials for SMEs. Continue Reading Awareness and Training

Chairman of the Commission for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Bulgaria
Deputy Chair of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB).

Hristo Alaminov, PMP®

PROJECT COORDINATOR

Lead of the project management and international affairs team at the Bulgarian DPA. Project experience in multicultural environment in public and private sectors since 2005.

GUERINO FARES

ROMA TRE COORDINATOR

He teaches Public Law at the Roma Tre University and is the author of several research studies and publications on personal data protection and regulation of new technologies.

Carlo Colapietro

ROMA TRE TEAM LEADER

Carlo Colapietro works as Full Professor of Public Law at the “Roma Tre” University. He is also the Director of the Postgraduate Master “Data Protection Officer and Privacy expert”.

VLADISLAV SLAVOV

UBL TEAM LEADER

Vladislav Slavov is a chairperson of The Union of Bulgarian Jurists. He was a President of the Supreme Administrative Court (1996-2003) and a constitutional judge (2003-2012).

Hristo Konstantinov

WP3 LEADER

Hristo Konstantinov is Managing director of Apis Europe JSC since 2018. In SMEDATA project he is acting as company’s team leader and leader of the mobile app development activities in WP3.

Milen Raykov

WP2 Leader

Milen Raykov is a Partner in EY for Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo. He is an experienced data privacy professional and a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Kamelia Angelova

EWLA-Bulgaria Team Leader

Kamelia Angelova is a lawyer with extensive background in EU law. Ms Angelova is currently acting as chairperson of the Managing Board of EWLA – Bulgaria.
